Marlowe has always loved clothes that let a woman feel beautiful without feeling dressed up.
Clothes that keep up with your day, the heat, the rush and the wish to be yourself. Nothing over the top. Nothing that apologises for existing.
That's how she came to look at every piece: with the care of someone who wears clothes, not just someone who sells them.
Marlowe & James
James is Marlowe's partner. Quiet and calm, the kind of person who says little and makes you feel at home.
Together they built Marlowe & James: a small shop of feminine, comfortable pieces that are easy to wear again. She chooses with the eye of someone who knows her craft. He makes sure everything reaches you calmly and with care.
The women
This shop exists because of you.
Women who are tired of choosing between comfort and elegance. Who want to open the wardrobe in the morning and recognise themselves in the mirror. Who don't need clothes to look like someone else, just clothes that are their own.
Every message, every order and every piece worn again and again is part of our story.
The three questions
Our promise has always been simple. Before a piece comes into the shop, Marlowe asks three questions:
- Is it comfortable?
- Does it flatter you?
- Would you wear it again and again?
If it isn't three yeses, it doesn't make the cut.
The end of a chapter
Every chapter has an end.
Some of the pieces we love most are saying goodbye. Our closing sale has started, and a large part of the current selection is now reduced.
Before we close this chapter, we'd like to thank every woman who has been part of our story. A new chapter will come, in its own time, and we'd love you to be nearby.
